Letter Post

You can link your letters here. Make sure to include your AO3 username. The DW post is here.

Last round, some people said they weren't sure how to write art prompts. There's no wrong way to go about it but some general tips are:

  • List Do Not Wants and Likes (art tropes, fan tropes, kinks, plots, art styles (do you want canon-style?), typography, etc)

  • Mention what you like about a character/ship/fandom (this can help your artist brainstorm their own ideas)

  • Short actions can make great prompts ("X throws a sleep over", "X and Y [do thing] together", "Z is comforting X", etc)

  • AUs can work well too ("Vampire AU", "Y as a Junji Ito character", "this canon as an anime")

  • Describe scenes in detail

  • If you picked something from Original Works or Crossover Fandom, it can be helpful if you explain what drew you to that tag. For instance, if you picked "A Tree" what sort of tree are you interested in seeing? An inked birch? Something Yggdrasil-like? A man-eating tree?

  • Fic prompts can be good for art too but it can be helpful to single out a few images from a story idea that you'd be interested in seeing in case your artist doesn't have time to make comics/animations

  • If you ask for banners, wallpapers, icons, reaction images, pixels, or transparents make sure to specify what sizes you would need

  • Remember that your requests can be as long or as short as you want.

Prompt Fest Round 2

Welcome to Round 2 of the fest! You can check out Round 1 here. Round 1 prompts can be requested again in Round 2. If you make a fill for a Round 1 prompt that wasn't re-requested, please add it to the Fills thread in this post.

For Prompters:
-All prompts must be made anonymously.
-All fandoms, characters, ships, tropes, and kinks are welcome.
-Warnings are optional.
-Don't comment with suggested modifications to prompts. Make a new prompt.
-Try to include the fandom, characters/ships, and a short description of the prompt in the subject line.

For Fillers:
-Fills may be made non-anonymously.
-Warnings and spoiler cuts are optional.
-Multiple fills per prompt would be wonderful.
-You may add your fill to the AO3 collection at any time. Our tumblr blog can reblog your fill or you can submit it if you prefer. You can also always ask me to not reblog or to delete a reblog.

For Everyone:
-If you see someone breaking the rules please make a mod call.
-All types of fanart and graphics are allowed in the fest.

Survey Results & Tentative Schedule

All right so survey results:
6 Oct
5 Sept
1 each for Nov, Dec, and Other

I decided to go with October because starting in September would require either shortening the noms/sign-ups or having a due date that was very close to Trick or Treat's, which was Oct 24th last year.

Tentative exchange schedule:
Nominations: Aug 28 - Sept 11
Sign-ups: Sept 14 - Sept 28
Assignments Due: Nov 6

This isn't set in stone yet so if you have any concerns, let me know and I'll try to tweak it.

Round 2 Update

I'm getting ready for round 2. I made a survey to see when you all would like it to start. You can check it out here. The FAQs have been adjusted and there is now an AO3 posting guide.

Major changes from last round are:
-You can now nominate more fandoms, characters, and ships (6 of each)
-Nominations will be two weeks
-Sign-ups will be two weeks

As always, if you have any questions you can let me know on any of the comms or email me at artfevermod@gmail.com.

Collection Problem & Pinch Hits

First: I flubbed up the collection and forgot to tick the "Anonymous" box. It's fixed now but the effect isn't retroactive. If you submitted before I fixed the collection, you'll need to delete your work and re-submit. You can check if you need to delete by looking at your work in the collection while logged in. If your work says that it's by Anonymous then you don't need to do anything. I'm sorry for the hassle. I can't believe I forgot that. Thank you to the anon that alerted me to the problem!

Edit: An anon on FFA has an alternate method to fix the problem if you don't want to delete.

CLAIMED Pinch Hit #3: Original, Ancient Egyptian Religion, Tales of the AbyssCollapse )

All works will be revealed on April 6th and everyone will be non-anoymous starting April 9th. The prompt fest also closes on April 6th.
